you've been doing yoga...
But Nobody Ever Taught You How

sound familiar?
Most people who do yoga, have never been taught how to do yoga.
They’ve been taught the shapes. The names. The sequence. The breathe-in-breathe-out rhythm of a class that moves too fast to ever stop and ask: why does this feel so hard? Why does my body resist this? Why does this pose hurt when it’s supposed to feel good?
And most yoga teachers — through no fault of their own — were never taught to answer those questions either.
So the misalignments compound. The compensations become habit. The poses that should be medicine become a source of frustration, injury, or quiet shame.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Every pose you struggle with has a reason. A fascial reason.
A foundational reason. Sometimes an emotional or spiritual reason that lives in the body as physical restriction.
And once you know the reason — and have the tools to address it — nothing on the mat is impossible.
“The aim is not to bend your body to yoga.
It is to adapt yoga to suit your body.”
The Yoga For You Philosophy
Before we go any further, I want to tell you something that twenty-seven years of teaching yoga has taught me.
Something the western yoga world — with its Instagram poses, its bendy young bodies, its achievement culture and its fixation on the ‘perfect’ expression of every posture — has almost completely forgotten.
Every human body is structurally unique. Your bones, your fascia, your history, your injuries, your age, your hormones, your emotions — all of it shapes what is available to you on the mat on any given day. And not every body is going to bend, twist, and hover the same way. Nor should it.
The goal of Yoga for You is not to make you look like a yoga pose. It is to make you the strongest, most flexible, most embodied version of YOUR body that is possible. Within your own structure. On your own terms. In your own time.
That influencer on your feed holding a perfect split? That is not a standard to aspire to. That is one person’s body, on one day, probably after twenty minutes of warming up off camera. It is not real. And it is not how I teach yoga.
"Come to the mat as you are. Some days that means arriving with grace. Some days it means arriving in pieces. Both are welcome."
Every time you step onto the mat, you are a different body than you were yesterday. Some days everything opens. Some days nothing does. Some days grief aches in your hips, rage screams between your shoulder blades, and exhaustion flares through your spine.
None of this is wrong. All of it is information.
The invitation is to arrive with curiosity rather than expectation. To notice what comes up — physically, emotionally, energetically — without judging it, fixing it, or pushing past it before you’ve listened to what it’s saying.
The mat is not a performance space. It is a listening space. And the most important skill you will ever develop in your practice is the ability to hear what your body is whispering before it must shout.
The pose you dread. The one you skip. The one that makes you want to give up, push through, blame the posture, or blame your body.
That pose is not your enemy. It is your ally. Your teacher.
The resistance you feel in your hardest pose — the tightness, the frustration, the emotion that surfaces when you finally stay long enough to feel it — is the body pointing toward exactly what it needs to release. The medicine is in the discomfort, not beyond it.
Embrace it. But never force it. There is a profound difference between the edge that teaches and the edge that injures — and learning to feel that difference is one of the most important things Yoga for You will give you.
I have been asked for years to create a course that women can trust. A practice that echoes the principles and wisdom I share in person. This is that yoga. What I have taught for twenty-seven years. Not the yoga of achievement, aesthetics, or performance. The yoga of the body as sacred intelligence — honest, responsive, and infinitely wise when we finally stop fighting it and start listening.
That is what Yoga for You is built on.
"Yoga is not a destination. It is a conversation between you and your body — and it gets richer the more honestly you listen."

what is yoga for you?
Yoga for You is a video-based course that deconstructs the yoga poses women struggle with most — and fixes them. Not with more flexibility. Not with more effort. With fascial release work and foundational body intelligence that changes what you feel in every pose, immediately.
Each module follows the same powerful before-and-after sequence:
-
See the pose as most people do it — the common mistakes, the compensations, the struggle named and understood
-
Learn the why — what fascial restriction or foundational misalignment is actually causing the problem
-
Do the Human Garage fascial move — a targeted release that addresses the specific tissue holding you back
-
Apply the foundational cue — the alignment technique that changes how you enter and hold the pose
-
Redo the pose — and feel the difference in your own body, in real time
This is the before-and-after experience that yoga classes never give you. The moment your body says: ‘Oh. THAT’S what this pose is supposed to feel like.’
And in case you were wondering — yes. These principles and practices apply to any yoga style. Whether your jam is power, yin, ashtanga, or the Sunday morning stretch class you’ve been quietly dreading — Yoga for You works with your practice, not instead of it.
what's inside for you
The Foundations Module
Before any pose, discover four non-negotiable techniques that change everything: wrist placement, feet positioning, pelvic floor activation, and pelvic tilting. The body literacy that most yoga teachers were never taught and most students never receive. Master these and every pose you ever do is transformed.
Downward Dog — Adho Mukha Svanasana
The pose everyone thinks they should be able to do — and yet most people are fighting their entire posterior chain to get there. We release the specific fascial restriction first, apply the foundational cues, and make Down Dog your best friend again.
Cobra — Bhujangasana
The heart opener that becomes a lower back compressor for most people. One fascial release, one block, and one cue about pelvic positioning changes this pose from strain to revelation.
Triangle Pose — Trikonasana
The pose more people get wrong than almost any other — and one of the most therapeutically powerful when done correctly. We break down every foundational cue and release the lateral fascial line that makes the difference between collapsing and unwinding.
Cat/Cow — Bidalasana
The most basic spinal mobility sequence in yoga — and one where most people are still only using a fraction of its full potential. Adding Tiger pose helps create the contract-and-expand action that activates peristalsis, wakes up the core, and turns a warm-up into genuine medicine.
Standing Forward Fold — Uttanasana
The posterior fascial chain runs from heel to skull — and Uttanasana asks all of it to release simultaneously. We work with that line intelligently rather than forcing against it.
Pigeon Pose — Eka Pada Rajakapotasana
The hip opener that defeats more women than any other pose. The hips hold the body's deepest emotional and fascial tension — and releasing that tissue before attempting this pose changes everything about what's available there.
Squat — Malasana
The stuff of yoga nightmares for many — and yet squatting is fundamental to our entire being. Malasana reflects digestive balance, reproductive integrity, and the ancestral wisdom we carry in our womb. Here we learn how to lean into squats to reclaim the source of our feminine power — and discover that what felt impossible becomes, with the right fascial preparation, both accessible and deeply nourishing.
yoga for you
is for you if
You’ve been doing yoga for years but certain poses still feel impossible, uncomfortable, or just wrong — and nobody has ever explained why.
You’ve avoided certain poses because they hurt, frustrated you, or made you feel like your body was failing you.
You’re new to yoga and want to build your practice on a foundation of genuine body intelligence from the very beginning.
You’re a seasoned yogi but realise you have developed some bad habits on the mat that you wish to correct before they deepen.
You are a yoga teacher who wants to truly see your students’ bodies — understand what’s causing their struggles and have the tools to address it.
You’ve heard about fascial release but never understood how it applies to your yoga practice — until now.
You want yoga that actually works for your perimenopausal or menopausal body — intelligently, safely, and with full respect for what your body is moving through.

who is denby sheather?
Denby Sheather has spent twenty-seven years teaching yoga and working with women’s bodies at the deepest level — as a yoga therapist, somatic practitioner, shamanic healer, and fascial release specialist trained in the Human Garage methodology.
She has watched students struggle with the same poses, make the same compensations, and receive the same inadequate corrections for decades. And she has watched those same struggles dissolve — in minutes — when the right fascial release meets the right foundational cue.
Yoga for You is the course she has wanted to make for years. The one that treats the body as the intelligent, responsive, fascia-woven system it actually is — and gives every woman and every teacher the tools to work with that intelligence rather than against it.
"Twenty-seven years of teaching has shown me one thing above all else: the body always knows. Yoga for You is simply the permission to finally trust it."

FAQ's
Do I need to be experienced in yoga to take this course?
Not at all. The Foundations module is designed for complete beginners, and every pose module starts from scratch. If you’ve never done yoga, this is the best possible place to begin. If you’ve been doing yoga for years, this will change everything you thought you knew.
What is Human Garage and why is it in a yoga course?
Human Garage is a fascia-release methodology that unwinds the body’s connective tissue — the web of fascia that holds tension, trauma, and restriction throughout the body. When fascia is released before a yoga pose, the pose becomes dramatically more accessible, more deeply felt, and safer. Nobody else is combining these two methodologies. That’s exactly why Yoga for You exists.
How long do I have access?
Forever. Yoga for You is yours to keep and return to every time you step on the mat.
Is this specifically for perimenopausal women?
Yoga for You is designed with women’s bodies in mind — particularly the fascial changes and postural shifts that perimenopause accelerates. However it is relevant and valuable for any woman at any stage of life, and for any yoga teacher working with women’s bodies.
Does it work for my style of yoga?
Yes — absolutely. These principles and practices apply to any yoga style. Whether your jam is power, yin, ashtanga, prenatal, or the Sunday morning stretch class — Yoga for You works with your practice, not instead of it.
What makes this different from other yoga courses?
Two things nobody else is doing together: Human Garage fascial release combined with foundational yoga alignment, taught in a before-and-after format that lets you feel the difference in your own body immediately. Plus twenty-seven years of teaching wisdom that says: the aim is not to bend your body to yoga. It is to adapt yoga to suit you.
